How it works

From the first call to a balanced door

  1. Tell us what the door is doing

Call or send the form. Loud bang, door stuck open, opener humming, panel damage. The symptom tells us what to bring.

  2. Inspection at your home

A technician looks at springs, cables, rollers, tracks and the opener together, because one worn part usually loads the others.

  3. Clear plan before work starts

You hear what failed, what we recommend, and what the job includes. You decide before work starts.

  4. Repair, test, adjust

We do the work, cycle the door, set the balance and the opener force and travel limits, and walk you through what changed.

Good to know

Common questions

My door made a loud bang and now will not open. What happened?

That is usually a torsion spring breaking. The opener alone cannot lift the full weight of the door, so it stalls or lifts a few inches and stops. Do not keep running the opener; call and describe the sound and we will bring the right springs.

Should I replace one spring or both?

On a two-spring door we replace them in pairs. Both springs have cycled the same number of times, so the second one is close to the end of its life, and a matched pair keeps the door balanced side to side.

Can you install a new door on an existing opener?

Often yes. We check the opener's lift capacity and travel against the new door's weight and height. If it fits, we reconnect and reset the limits and force settings as part of the install.

Do you work on garage doors outside Dallas?

Our home base is Dallas and that is where we work. If you are just outside the city, call with your address and we will say whether we come out.

What should I do before you arrive?

Move cars away from the door if you can do so safely, keep kids and pets clear of the tracks, and leave the door where it is. Do not disconnect the opener or cut anything; a loaded spring or cable is dangerous.
